With the weather getting warmer, boating season is back in full swing in Kansas this summer.
Riley County Game Warden Ben Jedclika says that while this is a fun time of year to get out on the lake, that it is common for people to forget to follow the safety rules.
Jedclika says that if people are to go out and boat, they need a life jacket on board and to also keep an eye out for potential hazards such as high wind gusts which could be an issue for swimmers, especially children.

Alcohol is allowed on the boat, but people driving must be below the legal limit in order to operate the boat.

Tuttle Creek State Park also prohibits the use of fireworks on state grounds.
