The Flint Hills Breadbasket Board of Directors is seeking a candidate with ‘open ideas’ that can encourage growth as the service organization’s next executive director.
FHBB Board Chair Doug Haverkamp tells KMAN they are accepting applications for the position through February 1st, saying the job is vital to the success of the organization.
“The ultimate goal that we want in the executive director position is one of leadership, organization and management,” Haverkamp says. “And to be able to foster and take care of the mission that the Breadbasket does — and that is to minimize the hunger and support the community with generous donations.”
Haverkamp says in addition to leadership acumen, candidates will need an understanding of food safety standards and community engagement work.
“We want to encourage anyone interested in the position, whether in the community or outside of the community, to apply,” he says. “We are open to all candidates to this position and look forward to what opportunities may arise for the Flint Hills Breadbasket.”
A job description posted by the FHBB board lays out responsibilities and skills that will be expected of any potential hires. The posting also lists a pay range of $60,000 to $70,000 per year for the full-time job.
“We’re keeping this position posted until February 1st, at which time we plan to prioritize the applicants,” says Haverkamp. “And select a group of candidates for the interview process.”
