The Manhattan Book Discussion Group and the VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) Support Group will meet on Tuesday, July 17th at the Senior Center. The Book Group will meet at 1:00. The title of this month’s book is “H is Hawk” by Helen MacDonald. The VIP meeting will follow from 2:00 to 3:00. Come Join for a fun-filled hour of Bunko! The American Red Cross is now facing an Emergency blood shortage. Right now, blood is being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in. All eligible donors are urgently needed to give now to help replenish the blood supply. A Junction City Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, July 19th from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm and Friday July 20th from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the Junction City Municipal Building. Arts in the Park on Friday, July 20th will feature Michael Kent at 8:00 pm at the Larry Norvell Band Shell in City Park. This event is free and open to the public.

Furniture Amnesty Day is an annual event that allows local residents to donate furniture they no longer need so others can select from the donated goods for free. The next event will take place on Friday, July 27th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Volunteers will pick up furniture donations within Manhattan City limits. Call 785-587-2404 to request pick up. The deadline to sign up for this service is 5 pm, Wednesday, July 25th. You may drop off your donations between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm in City Park on the day of the event.

The 10th Annual Speedy Pd Race for Parkinson’s Disease will be held on Saturday, August 25th, 8:00 am at Tuttle Creek State Park.
