Holiday Market @ Pottorf Hall
Dec 15 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

There will be a Holiday Market on Saturday, December 15th at Pottorf Hall from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  They will have lots of local goodies.  Stock up on fruits, veggies, meat, and baked goods for your holiday meal.  Shop local crafts for unique gifts. There will be holiday goodies such as toffee and peanut brittle…all homemade.  Homemade pies that you can special order and much more.

Wreaths Across America @ Kansas Veterans' Cemetery

The Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Riley-Manhattan will participate in the annual Wreaths Across America program with a ceremony Saturday, December 15th at 11:00 am.  Family, friends and the public are cordially invited to attend the ceremony.  Please dress warm as the Committal Shelter is not heated and some attending will either be sitting or standing outside the Committal Shelter.

Manhattan Book Discussion @ Senior Center

The Manhattan Book Discussion Group and the VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) Support Group invite you to join them on Tuesday, December 18th, at the Riley County Senior Center from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  This will be their Holiday Gathering and you may bring treats to share but not necessary.  Come join and enjoy time socializing, eating and participating in a short discussion of the December Book, “The Story of Arthur Truluv” by Elizabeth Berg.  Any questions, please contact Kathy at 785-539-1973.

Tuttle Creek Eagle Day @ Manhattan Fire Department

Tuttle Creek Lake will host Tuttle Creek Eagle Day, Saturday, January 5th from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.  The event begins at the fire station located on the corner of Denison and Kimball Avenues in Manhattan.  The day will start with presentations from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Milford Nature Center including an up close look at some live native birds of prey.  The day will end with an eagle watching tour at Tuttle Creek Lake.  Winter eagle watching is particularly spectacular and January is an ideal time to view these magnificent birds.  No registration required.  Buses will provide transportation for the tour.  Space is limited to a first come, first served basis.
