Evergy Representatives met with the Riley County and Manhattan City Commissions during a joint meeting Thursday to discuss implementation of new lines and substations to handle the rapidly expanding areas in Riley and Pottawatomie Counties.

Mark Freel and Aaron Spreer were the Evergy representatives who met with the Commission. Aaron Spreer gave the presentation.

Spreer says the intended goal is to reinforce existing power delivery, and revealed proposals. While a timeline of events was not ready to be finalized, Spreer says there are a number of meetings with local officials and property owners that have to happen before a route is finalized.
