With the prosecution anticipating additional charges will be filed, an arraignment for a former Northview Elementary paraprofessional was scheduled for July.
Aaron Zachry on Monday appeared via video in Riley County District Court represented by attorney Cole Hawver, facing nearly three dozen counts including sexual exploitation of a child. Scheduled for arraignment, that’s been postponed again until July 11 at 2:30 p.m.
Zachry was arrested nearly a year ago by Riley County Police, who after investigating a call of suspicious activity at Northview Pool say they found nude photos of minors on Zachry’s cell-phone. The case had been continued from a May 2nd arraignment hearing.
Deputy Riley County Attorney Trinity Muth Monday said an interview with another alleged victim is planned between now and July, which he believes will lead to additional felony charges and preliminary hearings in court.
Judge Kendra Lewison set the date for the hearing, also instructing counsel to start parallel processes on any preliminary hearings needed before July 11 in order to have matters settled and be ready for arraignment as planned.
