More details have been released regarding an ongoing investigation into white powder found in envelopes sent to Kansas legislators and public officials.

According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, samples of the letters containing the mysterious powder were sent to a laboratory for testing, with preliminary results indicating no signs of common biological agents of concern. Approximately 100 letters were received across the state.

Further testing is planned as officials with KBI, the FBI and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment work to determine the components of the substance.
