A man with a lengthy criminal record in Kansas, again failed to appear in Riley County District Court Thursday.
43 year-old Desie Martez Chatfield was due to appear in person for a probation violation, eventually appearing via Zoom, which Judge Kendra Lewison noted was not approved and a no-bond bench warrant was issued.
Chatfield said he was unable to physically travel to Manhattan and was scheduled to start rehab tomorrow (Friday).
Judge Lewsion ordered Chatfield to complete treatment or she would re-issue the warrant.
Deputy Riley County Attorney Trinity Muth said in court this is not the first time Chatfield has made the court “play on his terms.”
Online court records show Chatfield has continuously been a no-show in court. Prosecutors have been seeking potential prison time for Chatfield’s numerous offenses.
