Manhattan High School held its open house on Saturday to show off the new additions that have been added to the high school’s West Campus.
The addition was passed via a bond referendum in November 2018.
USD 383 Superintendent Eric Reid thanked the contractors, school board members and residents who helped make the addition possible.

Reid said that the additions should make the campus feel like an actual high school for the students.

Herrman is the board’s longest serving member of 16 years and mentioned that since 2006, the school district has put close to $80 million in bonds into renovating the school.

With the addition of 25 new classrooms, longer hallways and new plumbing, parking has also been expanded and the band hall and commons areas have been also renovated at the campus.
Students like Saba Mirafsal the expansion of the hallways was something that stood out to her.

Mirafsal also said she was impressed by the expansion of the parking lots.

Overall, the additions to the high school cost close to $40 million. The additions took 2 and a half years to complete.
The new school year for USD 383 begins on Wednesday August 16th.
