Riley County Police say a motorcyclist is recovering after a Wednesday evening wreck near the intersection of Stony Brook Drive and Tuttle Cove Road.

Officers found the motorcycle had left the road while navigating a curve just after 8 p.m., striking a Tuttle Creek State Park sign and landing in the grass. The driver, 30-year-old Dustin Powell, of Fort Riley, was transported to Via Christi for broken ribs and internal bleeding.

He was later transported to KU Medical Center in Kansas City for further treatment.

Elsewhere Wednesday, an injury crash was reported just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of Henton and Moehlman Roads at the dirt bike track.

RCPD says 19-year-old Kaiden Crain was navigating the bike track and was ejected from his dirt bike over the handlebars.

He was transported to Via Christi for treatment of unknown injuries.
