Riley County Police say a Riley County teenager accused of burglarizing the Ogden Casey’s store early Thursday morning is facing additional charges, stemming from a string of similar burglaries dating back to late October in town.

Estevan Rochin, 16, was arrested Thursday on charges of burglary, interference with law enforcement and criminal damage to property, after police responded to an alarm call at the store around 2 a.m. Thursday.

RCPD noted in Friday’s activity report that Rochin, has also been charged with additional counts each of criminal damage to property and burglary in connection to break-ins at the Casey’s store on both Oct. 27 and Nov. 5 and at the Valero station on Oct. 26. In each of those cases, including the Thursday, police say a window was broken out and in the Valero case, a door was damaged. In each case, around $1,500 to $1,800 worth of tobacco products were stolen from the store shelves.

In total, the estimated total loss of merchandise was around $6,850. In at least two of the incidents at Casey’s, a window was broken out, causing $1,200 in estimated damage per incident.

Police say Rochin, who was arrested early Thursday, was processed by juvenile intake and released to a guardian.
