October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and community organizations are partnering to spread awareness and provide support for victims.
The Crisis Center Inc. hosted a silent witness ceremony to honor Kansans that have been killed, and therefore silenced, by domestic violence.

Silhouettes of eight women and two children were displayed in front of the Riley County Courthouse, and Crisis Center Executive Director Kathy Ray explained why.
Ray also spoke about how prevalent these issues are in just Kansas alone.

Community members and organization partners stood alongside these silent victims and told their stories.
Before concluding the ceremony, Ray made one final plea to the community.
