A Junction City soldier who had been reported as missing by family members out of state has been found incarcerated in Georgia.

The family of 24-year-old Roberto Junior Familia had reached out to several Kansas media outlets concerned for his safety after not hearing from him for about a week. Junction City Police were made aware and Familia’s information was entered into the NCIC database after police conducted a welfare check at his last known address, but found no sign of Familia.

A JCPD spokesperson confirmed Wednesday morning that Familia was incarcerated in Crisp County, Georgia, about two hours south of Atlanta. He was said to be safe and unharmed but no longer considered a missing person.

No further information was immediately available.
